Mobility is the key to Texas’ success, state Rep. (R) District 98 Giovanni Capriglione told about 200 residents at Town Hall meeting.
“Transportation is an important function of government,” Capriglione said at his Transportation Town Hall meeting Feb. 12 at Colleyville Center.
Panelists at the meeting included state transportation officials, contractors and city leaders, most of whom talked project funding challenges.
Capriglione said the state’s main source of transportation funding is a flat gasoline tax of $.38 per gallon. Since 1991, $.20/gallon has gone to the state. In 1993, a $.184/gallon federal tax was added.
