The Seattle Times (11/13, Lindblom) reports that Washington state Senate Republicans are considering a proposal to raise the gas-tax by 11.5 cents a gallon gas-tax to fund highway and ferry construction. The tax increase would allocate $1.3 billion to help fun construction of the Highway 520 floating bridge, and would avoid the tolling of Interstate 90. It is not yet clear whether the proposal will be able to pass the GOP-controlled Senate and the Democrat-controlled House.
