TAG Motion Map Committee
Mapping the Future of Transportation in Greater Houston
The TAG Motion Map Committee plays a vital role in providing a visual
representation of transportation projects across the Greater Houston region.
This interactive tool helps facilitate informed dialogue, decision-making, and
project prioritization by highlighting key projects in various phases of
development and funding. Updated annually, the Motion Map ensures
stakeholders have access to the latest data on projects aimed at improving
safety, reducing congestion, and enhancing mobility options.
Committee Goals
- ✔ Stakeholder Engagement: Gather input from stakeholders annually to ensure the Motion Map accurately represents regional transportation priorities..
- ✔ Project Updates & Development: Work with agency partners to collect project data, launching outreach reports in August and focusing on data development from May through October. The updated map is unveiled in January or February.
Who Should Join?
We are seeking individuals with expertise in:
- ✔ State and local transportation agency collaboration
- ✔ Transportation project planning and funding knowledge
- ✔ Understanding of development and implementation processes
Commitment & Expectations
We are seeking individuals with expertise in:
- ✔ Bimonthly meetings for 3-4 months during the Motion Map development phase
- ✔ 2-4 hours of additional time required for project data collection
- ✔ A final half-day meeting for map review
- ✔ No meetings during the first quarter following the annual unveiling
TAG Membership Committee
Expanding and Strengthening Our Transportation Network
The TAG Membership Committee plays a vital role in growing and
sustaining TAG’s membership by identifying key stakeholders who
align with our mission and enhancing the value of membership
benefits. This committee is focused on recruiting both new and
seasoned transportation leaders to build a strong, engaged network
across the eight surrounding counties.
Committee Goals
- ✔ Drive Membership Growth: Implement targeted strategies to attract new members and renew existing ones, with a key focus on engaging three major organizations by 2025.
- ✔ Enhance Member Feedback Systems: Establish eective ways to collect and analyze feedback from current and prospective members, ensuring continuous improvements in services and benefits.
- ✔ Strengthen Member Retention: Develop and execute strategies that increase engagement, oer exclusive benefits, and foster a strong sense of community among members.

TAG Green Light Houston (GLH) Committee
Advocating for Transportation Priorities at the State Capitol
The Green Light Houston (GLH) Committee plays a pivotal role in
organizing TAG’s premier advocacy day in Austin during each
legislative session. This initiative brings TAG members together to
present our legislative agenda to state leaders, advocating for key
transportation policies and funding priorities. The committee works
hand in hand with the Legislative Policy Council to ensure a
strong, coordinated effort.
Committee Goals
- ✔ Legislative Engagement: Work closely with the Legislative Committee to develop and execute a strategic plan for engaging legislators and securing their support.
- ✔ Event Planning & Logistics: Coordinate all aspects of GLH in Austin, including scheduling meetings, securing venues, and preparing materials.
- ✔ Member & Partner Outreach: Notify TAG members and key partners about GLH dates and participation opportunities.
- ✔ Marketing & Materials Development: Collaborate with theMarketing Committee to create informative handouts and
promotional materials for participants and legislators. - ✔ Legislator Office Engagement: Select and order giveaway items for legislative offices to reinforce TAG’s message and priorities.
Who Should Join?
We are looking for individuals with experience in:
- ✔ Transportation industry experience (4+ years), preferably in
government relations - ✔ Event planning and logistics coordination
- ✔ Legislative advocacy and stakeholder engagement
Commitment & Expectations
Meet every other month for one year, every two years (in
preparation for the legislative session):

TAG Legislative Policy Council
Advocating for Transportation Funding & Policy Solutions
The Legislative Policy Council plays a critical role in shaping TAG’s
legislative agenda at the local, state, and federal levels. Our mission
is to identify and advocate for key funding opportunities that
advance the region’s transportation needs, ensuring a sustainable
and efficient infrastructure for the future.
Committee Goals
Policy & Funding Review: Conduct an annual assessment of funding policies critical to our region, identifying potential gaps and opportunities for Motion Map implementation.

- ✔ Legislative Agenda Development: Engage TAG Members and policy partners 6–12 months before the session to prepare and finalize a legislative agenda for Board approval (at least 3 months before session).
- ✔ Legislator Engagement: Compile and maintain a list of key legislators for TAG advocacy efforts, including Green Light Houston (GLH).
- ✔ Legislative Tracking & Advocacy: Monitor key bills during the session, provide monthly board reports, and identify opportunities for TAG participation and/or testimony.
Who We Are Looking For
We seek experienced professionals in the transportation industry
who have:
- ✔ 4+ years of industry experience, preferably in funding or governmental relations
- ✔ Knowledge of the Texas Legislature and its impact on regional transportation
- ✔ Policy expertise and active engagement with TAG’s policy partners
Commitment and Expectations
We are looking for individuals with experience in:
- ✔ Quarterly meetings during legislative sessions
- ✔ Monthly meetings in the year leading up to a session
- ✔ Additional meetings as needed to respond to key policy developments
TAG Marketing & Events Committee
Amplifying TAG’s Mission Through Strategic Marketing & Events
The TAG Marketing & Events Committee collaborates with the
Executive Director and Events/Program Coordinator to enhance
TAG’s visibility, support event planning, and develop compelling
content that advances the organization’s mission. This committee
plays a key role in advocating for transportation issues through
various media channels, including social media, the TAG website,
and promotional materials.
Committee Goals
- ✔ Ensure Consistent Branding & Messaging: Guide the development of marketing materials and communication strategies to maintain brand consistency across all platforms.
- ✔ Enhance TAG’s Digital Presence: Advise on strategies to improve TAG’s social media engagement and website content, ensuring consistent communication with stakeholders.
- ✔ Shape Leadership Messaging: Assist in crafting clear talking points and elevator pitches for board members to effectively communicate TAG’s impact.
- ✔ Refine Event & Sponsorship Strategies: Provide insights on event planning, speaker selection, and sponsorship packages to optimize engagement and attract meaningful partnerships.
- ✔ Promote TAG’s Key Initiatives: Support the development of promotional campaigns for TAG’s Motion Map, events, sponsorships, and legislative efforts.
