Proposition 2 Passes with Statewide Support

Thank you to our members, supporters and regional advocates who voted in Tuesday’s election. Your hard work and advocacy paid off with the passage of Proposition 2! – authorizing counties to finance the development or redevelopment of a transportation reinvestment zone (TRZ). 
We would not be celebrating today without the leadership of Senate Transportation Chairman Robert Nichols and House Transportation Chairman Terry Canales who passed HJR99 with a supermajority during the 2021 Texas Legislative Session which then became Prop 2. Thank you for your perseverance and commitment to funding infrastructure. 
Texans across the state showed their resounding support for infrastructure investment with over 63% of all who voted saying “yes” to Prop 2. Additionally, Prop 2 won 210 of the state’s 254 counties. When a similar measure was on the ballot in 2011, the proposition only won 11 of the state’s 254 counties.
